【VLOG】Exploring China Shanxi Xiaoyi’s Intangible Cultural Heritage

Every journey is a chance to learn something new. This time, I had the opportunity to join a cultural study tour in Xiaoyi, Shanxi. Besides learning about China’s rich cultural heritage, I also made new friends and gained experiences I’ll always remember. Although this vlog is a little late, I hope you’ll enjoy coming along with me!

Xiaoyi, located in Lüliang, Shanxi, China, is an ancient city full of stories. Even its name reflects the traditional values of filial piety and kindness that have been cherished here for generations. The city is home to a rich variety of intangible cultural heritage, including shadow puppetry (皮影戏), puppet theatre (木偶戏), and Wanwanqiang Opera (碗碗腔).
