Ruqun (Chinese: \u8966\u88d9 ; pinyin: r\u00fa q\u00fan) is a set of Hanfu consisting of a short jacket usually called ru (Chinese: \u8966 ; pinyin: r\u00fa ) worn over the top and a skirt called qun (Chinese: \u88d9 ; Pinyin: q\u00fan).<\/p>\n

\"Zhang<\/a><\/p>\n

The word \u2018ru\u2019 is sometimes used as a synonym for other clothing items such as shan (Chinese: \u886b ; pinyin: sh\u0101n) and ao (Chinese: \u8884 ; pinyin: \u01ceo).<\/p>\n

Ru can be a short jacket (top shirt) with short or long sleeves.<\/p>\n

Ruqun can broadly describe a set of clothing consisting of a separate upper garment with a draped lower skirt.<\/p>\n

Forms of clothing with tops and bottoms are usually called shang yi xia chang (Chinese: \u4e0a\u8863\u4e0b\u88f3 ; pinyin: sh\u00e0ng y\u012b xi\u00e0 ch\u00e1ng).<\/p>\n

Shang yi (Chinese: \u4e0a\u8863 ; pinyin: sh\u00e0ng y\u012b) means \u201ctop garment\u201d and xia chang (Chinese: \u4e0b\u88f3 ; pinyin: xi\u00e0 ch\u00e1ng) means \u201cbottom garment\u201d.<\/p>\n

As a set of clothing, ruqun can be worn by both men and women but is more often worn by women.<\/p>\n

Ruqun is the traditional Hanfu for Han Chinese women.<\/p>\n

Ruqun appeared during the Warring States Period and was often worn by women until the end of the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty.<\/p>\n

According to the model of the collar, ruqun can be divided into:<\/strong><\/p>\n
